Production of the first EcoTourer began in 2002 at Caravan Court in Melbourne after years of research, development, design and engineering.
EcoTourers were originally built in our small Melbourne factory until demand increased to the point that an alternative solution was required. Caravan Court decided to look overseas for a manufacturer and found one in China with a good reputation and experience in similar construction techniques.
Most importantly, this manufacturer could meet production requirements using parts mainly sourced in Australia therefore meeting demand without compromising quality. Today our entire EcoTourer range is assembled in Southern China with the addition of some accessories and pre-delivery taking place at our Melbourne factory. Quality control is closely monitored during regular factory visits while design and component improvements are an important ongoing process.
Over the years the range of EcoTourers has grown with the introduction of the Hurricane (Off Road) Model and more recently, the Slipstream (Hybrid) Model. The development of the shower/toilet floor-plan was the major advancement in the range and when added to the Hurricane Model it became our most popular choice for customers.
Our most recent venture is the development of the EcoTourer 420. This smaller, rear opening EcoTourer has been designed for customers with smaller tow vehicles and tighter storage spaces.
